University of Wisconsin–Madison

Welcome, First-Year CeO Scholars!

We are so excited that you are joining CeO as you prepare for life at UW-Madison!

Equipping You for the Journey Ahead

New beginnings are exciting, but stressful—that’s why CeO provides a robust program that helps First-Year CeO Scholars transition to college.

Although participation is mandatory, CeO’s First-Year Program is designed to provide the tools, connections, and resources that will help you thrive at UW-Madison.

The First-Year Experience: What to Expect

Connect With Your Advisor

CeO Advisors will connect with you on a deeper level, providing personalized, meaningful support throughout your academic journey.

You will meet with your CeO Advisor several times throughout your first year to address any unexpected issues and ensure things are going according to plan.

Make New Friends & Build Your Community

First-Year CeO Scholars are placed into a small group called a Peer-Led Community (PLC), which is led by a Peer Navigator—a returning CeO Scholar who will serve as your mentor throughout your first year.

PLCs provide First-Year CeO Scholars with a supportive network before class ever starts.

Early Move-In & Attend SFS Orientation

First-Year CeO Scholars move in early to attend CeO’s Strategies for Success (SFS) orientation program.

SFS includes various optional activities, offering you many chances to meet new people and explore campus at your own pace.

Discovering & Seizing Opportunities

No one arrives on campus already knowing everything, and you don’t need to figure things out on your own.

CeO helps you discover resources, experiences, and opportunities that expand what’s possible for your college journey.

You Deserve to Be Here

It is natural to experience self-doubt when starting a new chapter, especially at a large university.

CeO provides encouragement, support, and community to help you recognize your strengths and thrive at UW-Madison.

Grow Outside the Classroom

CeO programming provides opportunities to develop confidence, resilience, financial literacy, and other experiences that will benefit you long after graduation.

Add CeO on Instagram and stay in touch with your CeO Advisor so you never miss out on any opportunities!
