Hyewon Park

Hyewon Park (she/her/hers) double majored in Human Development & Family Studies and Apparel Design at Konkuk University in Seoul, South Korea. Since moving to the U.S. to pursue an MFA at UW-Madison in Theater and Drama, she has been an educator for the past 15 years at both undergraduate and secondary school levels.

She has been designing and teaching theater technology at the Mead Witter School of Music and Theatre & Drama Department at UW-Madison, Clark University, and Madison Metropolitan School District.

In the past decade, Hyewon has worked as a lead instructor and guest lecturer for the UW-Madison PEOPLE Program and Madison West High School serving under-represented, first-generation and traditional pre-college students from the Madison community. She is driven by developing and implementing student-centered curricula, using experiential learning in a relationship-driven environment. Hyewon’s students inspire her to help young people nurture their curiosity and self-celebration while growing their academic potential.

Hyewon is also the proud mom of a UW-Madison Biology graduate and who currently conducts clinical research at Harvard Medical School. She enjoys golfing with her husband, film script writing, and cheese making as her passion projects.
