Chee Yang (she/her/nws) joined CeO in October 2025 as an Academic Advisor. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies and Certificate in Public Policy from the UW-Madison, and shortly after, her Master’s in Public Affairs from the UW-Madison La Follette School of Public Affairs. She is from Milwaukee, and her passion lies in education services and policy. Outside of work, she enjoys biking around town, binging television shows with her dog, and going back home to visit family (specifically her ten-year-old brother).
Like many Hmong members of our community, Chee immigrated to the United States following the Secret War. In her work, she places strong emphasis on cultural competence and on understanding her students’ lived experiences. Chee enjoys building trust-based relationships with students, helping them identify their strengths and goals, and co-developing comprehensive plans for success.
Drawing on her experiences as a CeO alum and former Lead Peer Navigator, Chee brings both deep institutional knowledge and genuine care to her work. Her ability to connect with students and support them in building clear, achievable paths toward their goals strengthens CeO’s mission and community.
